In 1993 the Lord impressed upon the heart of Elder Phillip Hamilton to start a ministry in Knoxville, Tennessee. The first service was held in his living room with his family.
In 1995, Elder Hamilton learned of a building for sale, and the building was purchased. The Lord blessed the ministry, and the mortgage was burned on May 27, 2000.
On May 30, 2006, Children of God Ministries was further blessed and able to purchase a building located at 309 Deaderick Ave., the present location. Today, the ministry is continuing to grow and the mission and the vision of ministry are going forth.

Superintendent Phillip Hamilton, Sr., is a highly anointed, dynamic messenger of God who preaches the word in season and out of season. His wife, Missionary Shelia Hamilton, continues to be a blessing to him, the congregation, and the ministry. Elder Hamilton serves as the Superintendent of the Knoxville District.
